As I understood it, the dots in would continue to be updated. I only want to see the dashboard results once a day so I click the refresh once a day

That’s a good point. In light of this, why not close the dashboard and reopen it only when you need to see the results? If you don’t need to constantly monitor the data and real-time updates aren’t necessary, this approach should suffice.
