Map widget display all variables dialog too narrow

Hi,

I have a map widget and the action for an icon is set to show all variables. The dialog that opens is far too narrow and the size does not change no matter how wide I make the map widget.

When I had my profile set to 2 decimal places, the values were cut off after 1 digit so 1.26 would display as 1… and the name was also truncated.

I changed my profile to 1 decimal places (which I don’t want in most other places) and that made things slightly better but it still looks bad. I see someone else asked to be able to set the decimal places in the map widget and I would like that too.

In the image, the ma reading is 14.??

Regards, David.

Hello David,

I hope this message finds you well.

I agree with you and that makes sense. I shared your feedback with our Product team and they will take a detailed look.

I will keep you updated.

Best regards,

Alejandro

Thanks Alejandro.

I think I have hit a bug too. I have changed all the marker group actions to do nothing on single click, but every time the map is refreshed (dashboard open, etc) the display all variables dialog for one of the marker groups opens.

Note this isn’t when I click on a marker, it is when the map is shown or refreshed.

I just realised changing the profile decimal places to 1 doesn’t take effect when you share the dashboard publicly, so this isn’t a good solution even if I am willing to change my own profile.

Hello David,

I have changed all the marker group actions to do nothing on single click, but every time the map is refreshed (dashboard open, etc) the display all variables dialog for one of the marker groups opens.

Certainly, this is not a bug; it is the intended behavior. This occurs each time you refresh your dashboard or change the selected device on a dynamic dashboard while using a single marker group. We designed it this way to ensure that the map widget reflects the selected device by opening its variable list, even if both actions are set to “do nothing”, that makes sense for you?

I just realised changing the profile decimal places to 1 doesn’t take effect when you share the dashboard publicly, so this isn’t a good solution even if I am willing to change my own profile.

In this case it’s necessary to update or change the public link for a dashboard.

I have 4 marker groups, each with a single device in them. But it is a dynamic dashboard.

I tested this by getting the link and putting it into a private window so it would not pick up any of my session or account settings. Is there a way to include the decimal place preference in the link? It would be useful for the marker groups to have this setting.

It is currently not possible to include the decimal places preference in the link. However, as with other cases, I will share this suggestion with our Product team. They carefully review all customer feedback to prioritize and implement the most impactful features.

The decimal places limit doesn’t always work, even when logged in as myself:

My water tank is showing 0.50.

The widget is on the dashboard “OAI High School Agtech”

Currently they’re ok. Please confirm the dashboard name in order to take a detailed look.

Hi,

Yes, that is the dashboard name. From the URL, the id might be 673a9010f206ac000b1f39a7.

Ok, on a recent test, I can see values correctly too.

Yes, it is usually correct - frustrating from a debugging point of view!

I have changed the dashboard to static and that has stopped the all values dialog showing on open.

But should it have been showing if the marker group only had 1 variable in it?

Maybe do you have a copy of the dashboard, but still on dynamic behavior?

To give you a response, it depends on the previous marker group configuration. When the all values dialog is open, the widget indicates us which device has been selected on the dropdown of a dynamic dashboard.

I’ve set the dashboard back to dynamic.

Whichever device I set to be the default is the one that gets the all values dialog opened on it.

But just the first time you open the dashboard. For example, I saw once the dashboard and it appears as:

After change the selected device on the dropdown, its respective metric will open its own all values dialog.
