[SOLVED] Manual Input from Mobile Device

Hi @isalogi,

I created a manual input and I am able to change a raw variable I assigned to a device. When I pull the dashboard up on my iPhone and input a manual 4 digit entry (ex. 2002) nothing happens but is says “data sent successfully”. When I enter the same thing from my computer it says “data sent successfully” and it shows up on the device instantaneous. Am I missing something?

Update: The Slider widget works fine from iPhone, the manual input appears to have the bug.

Thank you for letting us know about this situation.

Can you please let me know the mobile browser you are using for accessing Ubidots from your iPhone? in that way we can perform some test and identify if anything is out of place.

I am on iPhone Xs running 13.3.1

I went ahead and made some tests using an iPhone device with Safari iOS 13.4 and I was able to send data as expected using the Manual Input widget. Can you please let me know the Safari version you are using? Additionally, If you can send us a video of the issue will be of great help to identify where is the problem coming from.

I have the same problem. I was able to send data when I login to my Ubidots account. However, when I shared my Ubidots Dashboard to the public, the send data function was not working properly although the computer showed that the data sent successfully.

Yes, it is happening on both the mobile and PC. Manual input only works when I am login to my ubidots account. However, it will not work when I share the dashboard to the public.

We were able to replicate this behavior with the manual input using the Dashboard public link. I’ve already reported with the development team and I will let you know as soon as the solution is ready.

Thank you for pointing me out to this topic. In theory, this issue was solved by the Dev team, but I just made a test and notice that there is still an issue sending data using the Dashboard public link. The development team already solved the issue by sending data through a public dashboard link. Can you please let me know if this is working from your side? if not, can you please advise the following details:

  • Browser and its version
  • Your username, and the dashboard name (you can send me this information via a private message)
