Dashboard not loading data for several days

Thanks for letting us use your free STEM service, just want to report a bug in loading dashboard data which persists for more than 5 days now. This post does not allow me to upload screenshots (tried PNG, JPG or ZIP) so maybe the bug is not just the “daily quota not resetting” which several user have. Maybe account conneced to dashboard issue? Or way how extraction is counted (even without me getting any data).
I am using PC and APP. Tried all, logging out, all kinds of resetting, dashboard auto run on / off, short time period etc, whatever was suggested in the other posts to prevent daily quota overuse.
In fact, now for a week I do not see any data in dashboard widgets. Just the “error loading your data” for amost a week now.
The device is working fine, my ESP32 shows active “a few seconds ago” and data injecition seems ok. According to dashboard usage it injects 2 days nothing and the third day 6000 dots . . . strange. Also usage, sometimes 2 days nothing and 3rd day 500.072. But no reset after that.
Just for your information - I do not expect any customer service for the free plan. Thank you for your great platform.
UPDATE> did not touch APP and Dashboard for 48 hours. Now usage seems to be reset finally and dasboard shows data again. I guess there is a bug how extraction dots are counted. It accumulates several days and then suddenly shows overusage.

Good day @rising_sun,

Thank you for taking the time to explain in detail the behavior you have been experienced, let us take this opportunity to apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused you.

Indeed there is a daily data extraction limit of 500.000 dots per day, which includes the dots extracted through two (2) outbound channels:

  • API : Data requested by external applications or devices from our API. Meaning each value extracted using any of our supported protocols (MQTT, HTTP, TCP/UDP).
  • Front-end: Data requested by the web interface (Dashboard and devices). This includes all the queries required to render dashboards, CSV reports, variables, etc. Having that in mind, yes refreshing a Dashboard, or exporting data will consume dots out.

The usage is visible in the account profile and the counter reset at UTC 00:00, meaning that depending on your timezone this will not always be at the end of the day. Now, thanks to your message we identify that the consumption of the days February 3 and 4 wasn’t being reflected in the profile usage, so we are going to investigate the reason and determine if this could be affecting the dots counter reset process.

Finally, I went ahead and increased your dots out capacity to 700,000 per day, to avoid you hitting any limits during your IoT application’s development.

I will be attentive to any additional comments and let you know as soon as I have further news.

All the best,
-Isabel

Hi @rising_sun,

Have a nice day!
