Updated Support For Device Types Over MQTT?

Hello everyone,

I am making some low overhead sensors and have been using MQTT to send the packets of data to Ubidots, which has been working great. I would like to use device types to auto assign the devices to their corresponding value, however, according to this thread, there was no support for device types over anything besides HTTP in 2019.

Has there been any changes to this, or is there still no types over MQTT? I have not seen any info contradicting that thread, so I wanted to ask just in case I was missing something.

We still don’t support device types over MQTT. Only via HTTP using the query param needed to set a device type you can make that operation.
